Those batteries, currently in prototype, are expected to remain expensive for years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text__text__1FZLe text__dark-grey__3Ml43 text__regular__2N1Xr text__small__1kGq2 body__full_width__ekUdw body__small_body__2vQyf article-body__element__2p5pI\" data-testid=\"paragraph-8\">Toyota said last month it had overcome an issue with the durability of solid-state batteries that would pave the way for production as soon as 2027.
