4 million investment for a 35 km underground power line in Iasi county

A €4 million investment will connect the wind and solar parks in Deleni and Scobinți to the national electricity grid. The project involves building a 35 km underground line through six communes and the town of Hârlău.

Shikun & Binui, a major name in renewable energy, will finance the construction of a 35 km underground power line in Iasi County. It will connect power capacities in Deleni and Scobinți to the Boureni transformer station. The investment is part of a wider effort to integrate renewable energy into the national grid, in a context of growing electricity demand and transition to clean energy sources. Technical details of the project
The power line will be located in the extravilan, crossing the municipalities of Deleni, Scobinți, Ceplenița, Cotnari, Balș, Cucuteni and the town of Hârlău. According to the documentation, the cables will be buried at a depth of about one meter, following obstacle-free routes. At the intersection with roads or other objectives, undercrossing works will be carried out. The works will temporarily affect about 105,000 square meters of land, mostly farm roads, municipal, county or national roads, as well as private properties.

Project justification
The global increase in demand for electricity, coupled with the crisis in traditional fuels, has led to the development of alternative, clean energy solutions. In this respect, the production of energy from renewable sources, such as the wind and photovoltaic parks in Deleni, contributes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Each kilowatt-hour generated by photovoltaic conversion can avoid the release of 0.3-0.5 kg of CO₂ into the atmosphere compared to conventional methods. About Shikun & Binui and the Deleni project
The Deleni wind farms are being developed by Deleni Wind Energy SRL, based in Constanta. It is owned by Shikun & Binui Energy Romania, part of the international group Shikun & Binui Energy Europe BV, based in the Netherlands. The Deleni project has obtained the environmental permit and is part of a strategy to expand renewable energy production capacity. Impact and prospects
The project contributes to the diversification of Romania’s energy mix, an essential step in meeting the EU’s green transition objectives. The realization of the underground line represents not only a technological breakthrough, but also a significant support for local communities through the use of clean energy and the reduction of environmental impact.
