Monsson Group invests in a major energy storage project in Dobrogea

A Monsson Group company, owned by Swedish businessman Emanuel Muntmark, nicknamed “the king of wind turbines” and one of Romania’s most important investors in the renewable energy sector, is planning a revolutionary project in Dobrogea. The massive energy storage project is a crucial step towards ensuring energy stability and adapting to Europe’s green energy future.

Monsson Group, known for its vast experience and significant contributions to the green energy sector, is preparing the development of a huge energy storage facility in the rural village of Stupina, Crucea, Constanta County. The project, located on an area of about 20 hectares, will have an impressive storage capacity of 2,016 MWh, making it one of the largest of its kind in Romania. Emanuel Muntmark, leader of the Monsson Group, is renowned for his ambitious wind and photovoltaic energy projects, not only in Romania, but also globally. With a solid career and an innovative vision, Muntmark has succeeded in putting Romania on the renewable energy map, with Monsson being a pioneer in the development of wind projects in the country. Nicknamed the “King of Wind”, Muntmark continues to expand his influence with this new energy storage project, essential for the stability of the electricity grid.

The plant at Stupina is a strategic solution for maintaining balance in the national energy system, especially as renewable energy production is often variable and unpredictable. Storage capacity is essential to be able to use the energy generated when demand is lower and to distribute it at peak times. The Stupina project will make a significant contribution to this objective by providing a stable source of energy available at all times. Monsson Group’s 2,016 MWh energy storage project in Dobrogea is an essential component of the national energy strategy and the transition to a low-carbon economy. According to data analyzed by Profit.ro, this ambitious undertaking by Emanuel Muntmark and the Monsson Group is one of the largest projects of its kind in Eastern Europe and will bring considerable economic benefits to the region. This large-scale project will not only provide stability and energy efficiency, it will also create new jobs, attract additional investment and boost the local economy. Moreover, by developing this storage capacity, Romania is taking an important step towards energy independence and joining global efforts to combat climate change by adopting sustainable technologies. The Monsson Group’s energy storage plan in Dobrogea illustrates Emanuel Muntmark’s long-term vision for the renewable energy sector and Romania’s commitment to a sustainable future. Once completed, this project will make a significant contribution to national energy stability and boost Romania’s transition to a green and energy efficient future.
